About the Kazakhstan Osteopathic Association
The Kazakhstan Osteopathic Association was created to consolidate the professional community of osteopathic doctors and to systematically develop osteopathy in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Association serves as a platform for professional dialogue, exchange of clinical experience, development of education, and the formation of a unified approach to osteopathic practice.
We consistently uphold the medical nature of osteopathy, the necessity of medical education, and compliance with patient safety standards.
Association Council
The Association is governed by a Council comprising doctors and experts with many years of clinical and organizational experience in healthcare.
Our partners
KOA collaborates with the Association of Osteopaths of Russia, the Register of Osteopaths of Russia, and the Association of Osteopaths of the Kyrgyz Republic, of which we are co-founders.
At the international level, KOA is an official member-partner of the Osteopathic International Alliance (OIA), which represents the interests of osteopathy at the WHO and unites 73 organizations and over 120,000 specialists from five continents.
In our work, we follow the standards of the AOA — the American Osteopathic Association, the globally recognized benchmark of the profession, with whom a formal partnership is currently in progress. We are building a profession with a world-class name.
Osteopathy
Osteopathy — is a clinical field of medicine based on knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and neurophysiology, using manual methods of diagnosis and treatment.
An osteopath views the body as a single whole, where every structure — muscles, bones, organs, blood vessels and the nervous system — is interconnected.
The osteopath’s task is to find and eliminate the root cause of a disorder, helping the body restore its natural balance and capacity for self-healing.
Osteopathy views the body as a single functional system and aims to restore the balance between the structures and functions of the body.
Osteopathic methods are applied in comprehensive medical care, prevention, rehabilitation and treatment of functional disorders.
